We offer a full variety of tours, treks and expeditions, from luxurious to edgy, from mountaineering expeditions to special interest excursions to museums. We have varied travel tastes, so do most of our clients, and we have a lot of fun offering a variety rather than a strict subset of experiences. We are not your hosteling, low-budget company and we strive to offer the highest quality service in Pakistan.

We’re very proud of the fact that your primary contact throughout and after your trip will be our destination expert. Our destination experts and operations managers are enthusiasts, which is why we don’t hesitate to advise you to question them freely.
Our trip leaders are vetted for three main criteria: First, ability to prevent and solve problems in the field, the capacity to deal with the various cultures, governments, and business practices in the places we visit. Two, an ability to relate to and enjoy our travelers. And three, a love for and a knowledge of the place.
The group size is highly flexible. Many of our custom trips range from one traveler to up to 20.
We stay in top-notch hotels, usually the finest, or, in remote areas, the commonsense best. Mostly in Pakistan’s lovely, Serena Khaplu Palace, Serena Islamabad, and Serena Swat. We stay in guesthouses or local homes in the remote Astore, Chupursan or Shimshal valley where “rustic” is more than travel prose, but where the kindliness of the local people, the calm neatness of things, and the stunning views are consolation enough. In all, though, we strive to stay in the most atmospheric and luxurious properties available.

The minimum age (for Family trips) varies depending on destination, and Chkar has set minimum ages to ensure that the included activities suit each age range. We ask that you carefully consider whether you are physically and mentally able to complete the itinerary you have chosen, recognising that on many trips you will be required to carry your own bags and use public transport.
Where we can we will make reasonable adjustments to the operation of our trips to facilitate the requirements of disabled travellers – such as booking ground floor accommodation, or having our leaders communicate important directions in writing as well as verbally. Many travellers with disabilities have been able to enjoy our trips by travelling with a friend or companion who can assist with specific needs.
